I'M OBSESSED with Mexican food! So, this year for Burger Day, I decided to make a Mexican burger since I made an Indian Burger last time.
My burger turned out amazing! An incredibly juicy beef patty, melty cheese, creamy guacamole, and a delicious burger bun. YUM!

Mexican Burger
My family and I really enjoyed these Tex-Mex burgers for lunch; they are loaded with Mexican flavors and super easy to make.
My secret to the best burgers is to season the beef patties well and cook them just until they are juicy and tender, NOT dry!
I like to add lettuce for a fresh, green crunch. I also used store-bought fresh guacamole to keep things easy.

You'll Need
Complete information on ingredients and quantities is in the recipe card at the end of the post.
Ground beef: I use ground beef with (80% lean, 20% fat). The fat in the meat creates that juicy texture that you want your burger to have.
Garlic: It adds flavor to the burger patties.
Seasonings: I seasoned the ground beef with salt, black pepper and paprika, cinnamon, ground cumin and ground coriander.
Cheddar cheese: I prefer mature cheddar cheese.
Hamburger buns: I use regular white buns.
Lettuce: It Adds crunch to your burger.
Guacamole: Adds great flavor and gives the burger its distinct Mexican taste. You can use store-bought or homemade guacamole. Optional, I add a ½ Jalapeño to my store-bought guacamole for a spicy flavor.
How to Make Mexican Burger - Step By Step Photos

One: Mix the ground beef with breadcrumbs, garlic, egg, and all the seasonings in a large bowl until combined and form the mixture into burger patties.
Tip: To keep the patties from breaking, you may let them chill in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes before cooking.

Two: Heat the oil in a large frying pan on medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.

Three: When you flip the burger to the other side, put a slice of cheese on the patty and let it melt while the patty is cooking (DON'T overcook).
Four: Cut the buns open and add lettuce, a burger patty topped with cheese and, finally, a teaspoon of guacamole and serve!

Pro Tips
- Use ground beef that has some fat: For juicy beef patties, use ground beef that has some fat (I use 80% lean/20% fat).
- Use high quality cheese: For the best flavor I use cheddar cheese because it melts fast and pairs well with burgers. Cotija and Pepper Jack are also a good choice.
- Cook the patties on a hot pan: For a better texture and to prevent them from sticking.
- Don't overcook your burger patties: Overcooking will make them dry and not juicy as we want them. However, the time may vary based on the thickness. For medium-sized patties cooked on medium heat, it took me 4-5 minutes on each side.
