    Jump to Recipe

I grew up in a Mediterranean country, and I used to add Mediterranean spice mix to pretty much everything I cooked.

Because these seasonings were stable in my kitchen, I decided to stop buying them and experiment with different spices to create the best Mediterranean seasonings ever!

A teaspoon full of mediterranean spice blend.

    Mediterranean Spice Mix

I really like how this spice mix elevates any dish I add to, from chicken marinades and grilled meats to roasted veggies and salad dressings.

I love the deep, rich and vibrant flavors of this Mediterranean herb and spice blend.

    What's In This Recipe

    mediterranean spice mix.

The above photo shows all the ingredients I used to make the recipe. The complete information on ingredients and quantities is in the recipe card at the end of the post.

    • Dried thyme
    • Dried oregano
    • Cumin
    • Ground coriander
    • Garlic powder
    • Ground black pepper
    • Smoked paprika
    • Salt: I use fine sea salt.

To make the spice blend, add all the spices to a glass jar and shake it well until combined. I Keep the jar in my kitchen cabinet. It will last for about 3 months fresh.

The recipe makes about 4 tablespoons (12 teaspoons) you may double or triple the recipe if you want.

How To Use These Spice Mix

I usually add 3 teaspoons of the mix for each 1 pound of raw meat, such as chicken, fish, or roast beef, before grilling or baking.

Also, I add 2 teaspoons of this mix for each 1 pound of raw veggies before roasting them.

I also use it in chicken marinade and salad dressing.

    Helpful Tips

I usually store my spice blend in a well-sealed glass container in the kitchen cabinet, away from light and heat, to prevent it from losing its flavor.

For the best flavor, I recommend buying whole spices and grinding them fine or coarse according to your liking.

I also prefer to make small batches as they are so easy to whip up and to use the spice blend as fresh as possible.
